I wake up in the morning and once the bluebirds see my shadow moving about by my espresso machine, they flock to the feeder and alight on the arm of the pole to remind me that it is time for breakfast. When I go outside to pour more meal worms into the feeder, they fly off into the tree until I have once again retreated inside. Within 12 seconds the sky is filled with blue wings soaring down for their food. It is a celebration of all things as beautiful as the wild blue yonder. They have me trained. And I like to think I have them trained, too.
