The Frankfurt Christmas market is large and the setting is lovely amidst the medieval buildings of the Roemerplatz. The market gets very crowded and quite impossible to navigate after dark, so I would suggest going in the mid afternoon, staying for dusk in order to enjoy the lights for a bit - and then escape as the madness sets in. This is the market for folks who love crowds, commotion, and lines for gluewein. But just before and at dusk - it is quite a treat.
